Our Story

How We Met

To set the scene, it was a warm July day in 2018 at a Stator Brother's Supermarket. As Mark walks down the frozen food aisle looking for a sweet treat, he sees the last pint of Mint Chip Ice Cream. Just as Mark approaches, in comes Josh grabbing that last pint. Josh must have seen the disappointment on Mark's face because like a true gentleman, he kindly offers to let Mark have it instead. Josh extended the pint to Mark and as he reached for it, their hands touched and a spark was immediate. They knew this wasn't any normal interaction, there was something magical happening. Wouldn't it be nice if that was true? The truth is they met on the Tinder dating app like so many others. They of course hit it off and spent a couple weeks texting and talking on the phone before deciding to meet in person. Mark canceled the first date with an excuse Josh thought was a little weird (but legit), Mark had 'forgotten' that his family was celebrating his Dad's Birthday and had to reschedule the date. Josh thought it was over before it started but he had no idea that one day Mark would be his Fiancé and future Husband!

The Proposal

Mark & Josh went to San Diego to celebrate their 4-year anniversary as they have for the past several years. This anniversary was going to be something special; Mark was going to 'pop' the question. This was no surprise to Josh as they had discussed it and shopped for rings together. What Josh didn't know was exactly where or how it would happen. Mark decorated their hotel suite with balloons, rose pedals, twinkle lights and photos from their last 4-years of adventures. It wasn't the traditional proposal of getting on 1 knee but instead a multiple-choice proposal Mark made on a throw pillow. They celebrated with an apple cider toast and dinner at Fleming's Steakhouse.
